Scott Kahn

Heatwave

Scott Kahn is someone that I have recently come across. He has a unique precise style of his own that for myself, evokes lonesomeness and a person observing the world.

I’m drawn to his work I think in part because of his attention to detail. In the pieces I like the most, I get the sense that he needs to think about every square inch of the canvas. There are a lot of artists out there who do a brilliant job of representing grass and trees with big bold swathy brushstrokes. Damn I wish I was one of them. The fact that Kahn needs to paint every branch on a tree or every blade of grass in a field is something I appreciate.
