Untitled Sculpture Action Picture

Unnamed Sculpture Action Pic, pencil on paper 2015

I was pretty happy with this picture when I finished it. I think. I got in a good unusual perspective. This was 100% from my imagination. No photo or visual reference, which proved to be a fun challenge.

I was thinking about Al Farrow a little here. This isn’t Al. Just his studio which is one of the coolest spots I have ever seen. He collects Pre-Columbian artifacts, has a full blown workshop with metal manipulating tools, and 100’s and 100’s of gun things from by gone eras that he uses for his sculptures. Its just such a creative well loved space.

I put in a picture representing the fishing boat I worked on in Alaska.

Quick doodle that I used as reference for the final piece. You can see some things in the window that I think I meant to have represent the artifacts in the studio.
