Gary Bunt

I’m not sure how I feel about Bunt.

Half of me likes the narrative qualities of Blunts work. I appreciate his imagined landscapes, the attention to detail, the story telling… its all great… but.

Its so figging sentimental. Its killing me. Its probably just because I have been tuned to dismiss anything bordering on kitsch.

I’m going to think about this guy for a while. I think some of my reservations also have to do with how I approach art. I kind of feel like Bunt crossed the line and went into Kinkade territory here, but maybe he didn’t.
