Leopold Gottlieb
I have to admit, I never paid that much attention to Gottlieb until just recently. I have come across a couple of his works online and am flabbergasted on how great they are. “How had I never been aware of his work before?”
Gottlieb’s pallet during the later years of his life are unique and so sophisticated. I can see why someone might not be fully appreciative of his work because its dark and muted and not friendly. What it does do is seep with emotion and contains an inner power that I can feel while looking at a computer generated image of it.

This is the first work by Gottlieb that registered with me.
I spend a lot of time on Instagram looking at new paintings. I know I passed by this work a couple of times before I allowed myself to engage with it.
