ABSTRACTIONS:
Its fairly apparent I have an obsessive detail oriented streak. This is most obvious with these abstractions. What interests me is shapes, color, & patterns. I like the idea of having one motif when the image is viewed from afar and a completely one when viewing closely. Artists like Rothko impress me. Big shapes of color that one can meditate upon for hours. I cant do that. I worry about every square inch. But at the same time, I am looking for the meditative wash that Rothko achieves.
