Matisse Study
I put a lot of work into this one. Numerous sketches and lots of time thinking about and looking at Matisse. I think this drawing came off pretty good. I like it. Its understated and the more I look at it, the more I appreciate it.
I’ll add more content and the sketches at some point.
I did that study based on this work 'La Musique', 1939. In my mind this is a very modern image. I appreciate how flat the composition is and its heavy design elements. This is a perfect artwork.
