Etude #21
Objective:
Francis Bacon Study c. 1957
I appreciate Bacon’s explorative mark making.
I’m adding this image because I am having a hard time skirting the line between illustration and exploration with Etude #21. I’m reminding myself repeatedly to mess things up.
End of Session 7
At this point, the figure looks great and the colors are to my liking.
I need to add a ton more depth though. The figure is missing part of its soul currently. Its too conformist.

How can you not appreciate that gaze.
