Felice Casorati - ‘Girl from Pavarolo’ 1937

This composition is very odd. I feel like she is boxed in and that the background is very flat even though its rising vertically behind her.
The artist is good enough to make all of the subtle ‘off-ness’ feel authentic.

Laura Knight was one of Britain’s most celebrated painters during her day.

Ethel Bartlett was a pianist who became widely known due to her recordings.

I love this picture and am taking on a challenge to see what I can morph it in to.
