Tirzah Garwood

I just am finding out about the ‘Great Bardfield Artists’ group who practiced in Britain. This was a group devastated by World War 2 but managed to build a mutually supportive group practicing between 1930 and 1970… (I need to do more research… they seem really cool).

More about her husband Eric Ravilious

I love Bartwood for her narrative spaces. She is always telling a story with the work of hers that I have seen. She is also someone who feels 100% removed from ‘the art world’… which i know isn’t right… but I get the feeling that she was not someone who cared greatly about galleries in London or elsewhere. I also don’t feel like she or her group was pushing things like Munter and her… (more about munter…)
