Etude #11
Starting Point: This is one of several pictures of Pina Bausch I’m using to work from. I’m trying to find particular types of people who are posing in a way that grabs my attention. I got stuck on dancers for a bit and went down a rabbit hole of looking at Bausch. Interesting lady. She smoked cigarettes like it was her life source.
Bausch carried herself with unusual poise. Modern Dance troupe members from the 60’s/70’s were so interesting. I’ve been trying to stay away from smiles since they all feel so fake when in photos. But there is something about the way she is looking at the camera I want to keep right now. Maybe I wont veer too far from the source.
Objective:
Goal: Good composition.
