Starting Point: I was interested in the expression and pose of Pina Bausch
Objective:
Goal: Focus is on color and mark making.

Goal: Have a woman with a soul represented.

End of Stage 10
I like this composition at this fidelity. So far I was trying to find how this figure fit into the space around her. Hopefully as detail is added, it doesn’t morph horribly again.
David Park - Seated Man 1960
Look at the level of mark making Park has in this study vs. What I have at the end of stage 10.
Jean Baptiste Camille Corot 'Portrait de jeune femme', 1868
Corot painted some beautiful studies. The intensity in the lady’s presence is undeniable.
