Inspiration:
When starting a new work in this Etude series, the starter image is pulled from a folder of curated images. It’s important to find images that spark a little interest. A lot of time is spent online looking at photos searching for pictures that are meeting specific criteria.
Starter Image:
I appreciate the dignified pose of this lady. The way the sun falls in from the window and the color of the room… its a great picture.
My initial goal is to let it rip and see where things end up. As I start this work, I am just ending Etude #17. I think my main inspiration right now is to see if I can find some of what was going on in that picture.
Francesco Clemente ‘Terrible Painting Nº 1’ - 2016 (of model anna ewers)
I’m not sure why I have Clemente on my mind recently as I have been working.
